With the commissioning of Indian Coast Guard Ship Subhadra Kumari Chauhan being commissioned, the Indian Coast Guard has turned out much stronger than before.

ICGS Subhadra Kumari Chauhan is now the thrid of its class in the category of the extra fast patrol vessel. The ship is named after the great poetess of the Hindi literary era.
Born in 1904 in a small village in Allahabad, Subhadra Kumari married Thakur Laxman Singh of Khandwa in 1919. In spite of being a devoted wife and mother, Subhadra Kumari did not shy away from the indian freedom struggle. she was the first woman Satyagrahi. There are many inspiring, patriotic poems to her credit, like 'Jhansi ki Rani'.

Although she died young in a car accident on February 15, 1948, she continued to remains and even till today remains a source of inspiration for women throughout the country.
ICGS Subhadra Kumari Chauhan has been has been equipped with the latest and the advanced technology and will strengthen the Indian Coast Guard as a law-enforcement agency in maritime zones of india.
