Margao, Apr 30: While a high court order in 1996 put an end to bullfights in Goa, it still appears to be continuing here with great enthusiasm. Also the Videocassettes and CDs of the same are easily available at the cost of Rs.100 at any video library in Goa.

It is said that those involved in arranging such type of bullfights record it on camera and than replicates the CD version and make it available at video libraries.

Those unfortunate ones who have never seen the spectacle are given a chance to enjoy watching them at home.

In the past, Dhiryo were taking place only in open field of Colva, Banaulim, Munglar and Majorda and also in village Raia. But now it has become good business everywhere in Goa, mainly in coastal belt, as it has got the political power to carry on the business without any hindrance. Police have no control to stop these activities.

It is also said that locals and some political leaders wager bets of Rs 3 to 5 lac on stronger bulls.

When this correspondent conveyed this news to high-level police officers they asserted that it did not happen in Goa. Also they ruled out the possibilities of the D version available in libraries. But the fact is it is available in every video library.

And this is no bull. Daijiworld is in possession of a CD of this kind and these pictures have been reproduced from it.

Police wants that somebody should complain about the availability of the CD in any video library or till then they will not raid the video libraries.
