Puttur, Dec 20: St Joachim’s High School, Kadaba held its decennial celebrations here on Wednesday December 18.
Bishop of Malankara Catholic diocese, Puttur, Dr Geevarghese Mar Divannasios presided over the programmed. In his address, he stressed that value-based human formation should be the aim of education.
District Kannada Rajyotsava Award winner Elias Sanctis and correspondent Fr Alexander Lewis were honored on the occasion.
Sanctis in his message pointed out, "God has created each one of us with a purpose and a mission. We need to engage ourselves effectively to realize that purpose and mission."
Fr Lewis in his speech highlighted the role of teachers in imparting quality education to the students and in the development of the institution they are working for.
Sayyad Sameer of 10th standard was honoured for winning Kabadi championship at the state-level and on being selected to play at the national level. Satish Panja, the drawing and craft teacher of the High School was also honoured for winning the science model contest at the district level and getting selected for the state level contest. Elias Sanctis released the Souvenir marking the decennial year.
Haji Haneef, gram panchayat president, Joseph Veigas, the vice-president of parish council, Ganesh Subrmany Bhat, the PTA president of PU College, Chandrashekar, PTA president of High School, and Mohammad Faisal, alumni president, Sr Jacintha Rodrigues, headmistress of St Ann’s English Medium Primary School, and Jasmine Pinto, headmistress St Ann’s English Medium High school were present on the dais.
Kittanna Rai, the coordinator of decennial celebration welcomed the gathering. Fr Elias D’Souza, the principal, presented the report of the college. Supreetha M, the assistant headmistress proposed the vote of thanks. Rajsh N, the Kannada lecturer conducted the programme.
