Mangalore, Dec 15
: Konkani magazine 'Namaan Balok Jezu' celebrated its 5th year anniversary and ‘Carmel Day' at Infant Jesus Shrine Carmel Hill, on Saturday December 14.

Fr Pius James D' Souza, Carmelite priest, welcomed the gathering, and said, “People come here from different places to pray and today we are celebrating our 'Carmel Day' and pleased to see all of you."

C G Pinto, Corporation Bank, general manager, said, "In this generation, becoming a priest is very hard. This generation has become an 'internet generation'. But, with all these problems they maintain everything. These Carmelites are like soldiers, they have to sacrifice and struggle. And I want to wish them a very happy 'Carmel Day'.”

The book, 'U Turn', written by Jo C Siddakatte, was released by Hilda Goveas, assistant administrative officer. Kittall Yuva Puroskar winner Wilma Bantwal spoke about the book.

“U Turn is a good book, and I can say that Jo Siddakatte is a good writer. I read his book and I felt really peaceful after reading it,” she said and suggested that everyone buy the book.

Then later, the drama ‘Kudro’ written by Jo Siddakatte and directed by John M Permannur was staged.

Fr Stephen Pereira, editor, and Fr Archibald Gonsalves, provincial superior, were also present.
