Mumbai, Dec 10: Actor Rajpal Yadav was let go from Jail after serving three out of his ten day sentence today, as a Delhi High court accepted his appeal against the orders of Single Judge previously presiding over the debt-recovery case. The case was filed on Yadav by MG Agarwal, owner of Murli Projects for he had failed to repay a loan of Rs 5 crore that the actor had borrowed from the builder back in 2010.
The 10 day sentence had been given to Yadav on December 3, by a lower court, wherein Yadav had submitted an affidavit furnished with the false signatures of his wife Radha. It was also brought to the notice of the court that the actor and his wife had allegedly hidden important facts pertaining to this same case. The loan apparently had been borrowed by Yadav for the making of his directorial venture titled 'Ata Pata Lapata'. The Court has forbidden Yadav from going abroad while permitting him to do any film related work within the city. The Court accepted the surrender of Yadav's passport by his legal counsel along with a written undertaking that Yadav would submit a cheque of Rs 20 Lakh with a week's time as well.
While Yadav was sentenced to be under simple imprisonment for 7 days, the Court ordered for his wife to be locked in a room beside the Registrar General's office until the end of that working day for she had her child with her. The Lower Court had also looked into the fact that the husband-wife duo had time and again ignored the legal notices sent to them, asking for them to repay the loan in its entirety. Since the couple failed to honour the notices of the court, they were asked to present themselves before the judge and while Rajpal Yadav turned up his wife was represented by an affidavit that the court adjudged to have contained her false signatures.
