Kundapur, Dec 10: St Pius X English Medium High School Piusnagar , Hanglur hosted its annual day on November 25.
Vijetha Civil Judge Kundapur, Gopal Shetty, Block Educational Officer Kundapur, Fr John Walter Mendonca parish priest of St Pius X Church, Piusnagar were the main guests who were present for the function.
Guests of Honours were Philip Fernandes vice president of Parish Pastoral Parishad, Piusnagar, Leena D’Souza secretary of Parish Pastoral Parishad Piusnagar, Manju Billava ex.judicial member of Kundapur Taluk Panchayath, Monthu Fernandes ex vice president of parish pastoral parishad, Piusnagar, were also present for the function.
Principal Dr Sr Sylvina presented the annual report highlighting the achievements of the school and the students. Meritorious
students in academics and extra-curricular activities were felicitated.
Vijetha appreciated the selfless service rendered by Sisters of St Ann. She said that St Ann’s Education Society which has established St Pius X High School in Piusnagar Hanglur is doing a great job. She was all praise for the institutions run by St. Ann’s Education Society because she herself is one of the Ex-student of St Ann’s Education Society.
She applauded the school’s spectacular performance in all spheres and said this institution aims at the all round development of its students who not only make a mark in academics but also add feathers in the school cap by winning laurels in co-curricular
activities and sports. She advised the parents not to pressurize children but to give freedom for them to live their dreams in this competitive modern world.
A number of breath-taking cultural items were presented by the students. Std 9th and 10th students touched every heart and filled everyone present with a sense of national pride with their Patriotic Dance.
The highlight of the day were English Skit Parable of the talents, song and dance performances on themes such as ‘Save the Planet Earth and Save Ourselves’ were also presented. Sr Shareena along with students and Suman compered the programme.
Mr. Gopal Shetty, Block Education Officer Kundapur, appreciated the school and its management and said that it is one of the best schools in Kundapur Taluk.
Fr John Walter Mendonca appreciated the performances of the students. He advised parents to grab the opportunity by admitting
their students into such schools where not only academic excellence was achieved but the whole personality blossomed. A large number of audience was present on the occasion. The culmination was marked by the vote of thanks to the guests and parents.
