Won't discontinue Kuwait - Mangalore flight operation, confirms AI
Daijiworld Media Network - Kuwait
Mangalore, Dec 9: Following reports in sections of the Kuwait media that Kuwait-Mangalore Air India Express flights would be discontinued from February 15, 2014, Air India officials have confirmed to daijiworld that there are no such plans by AI Express. However, there will be a small change in the normal schedule.
From January 15, 2014 to March 2, 2014, instead of three flights a week, only two flights will be operating. Other than this, there will not be any disruption in the service. Three flights per week will continue full-fledged in the next season too.
"There is no need for panic among Maangalore-bound Kuwait passengers. The service will continue as usual," the official confirmed to daijiworld.
There were several calls and emails from Kuwait to daijiworld enquiring whether reports about discontinuation of service were true. The reports in Kuwait had claimed that Air India had planned to discontinue the Kuwait-Mangalore-Kochi flight operation as its lease period of the existing aircraft had expired. However, it is now confirmed that no such step will be taken.
