Mangalore, Dec 8: After successful presentations in Bikarnakatte, Udupi, and Kundapur, NGO White Doves staged the final shows of its '2013 Year Old Fact in a Mobile Act' at Nehru Maidan and Padua grounds here on Sunday December 8.
Large crowds gathered to watch the show at Nehru maidan. Union minister for road, transport and highways Oscar Fernandes and his wife Blossom were among those present to watch the show.
Addressing the gathering, Oscar Fernandes said, "It is laudable that White Doves has been organising such a beautiful event, that too from the past 19 years. It shows not just the hard work, teamwork and dedication of their members but also their capacity and capability to organize such an event."
He added, "White dove symbolizes peace and these ‘White Doves’ have been spreading the message of Lord Christ and peace everywhere. I wish this team performs in other states and across the nation too," he said.
He also played the mouth organ to the tune of 'Joy to the world'.
The mobile show staged this year depicted the story of St Sebastian and Jesus Christ. Colourful artwork, dance and music added charm to the show. A special highlight was the arrival of Santa Claus who spread the spirit and joy of Christmas.
Under the leadership of Corrine Rasquinha, founder president of White Doves, and Vitus Rasquinha, trustee, more than 150 artistes rendered a stupendous performance and won the hearts of the crowd.
