Mangalore: Jubilant BJP camp in city celebrates party's victory

Mangalore, Dec 8: The members of the city unit of BJP on Sunday December 8 came together at Pumpwell to celebrate their party's landslide victories in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and the unseating of Congress in Delhi. The counting of votes for the Assembly elections in these states, as well as in Chhattisgarh, was held on Sunday.
The party workers also took out a rally from BJP office to Navabharat circle and back to their office.
Addressing the media, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “This is great achievement by the BJP. People who are fed up with the corruption of the Congress government have blessed the BJP under the leadership of Narendra Modi."
He added, "Modi effect worked in all the four states. This victory is because of the failure of the Congress government and inefficient governance by the PM, and the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi."
MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik said, "The victories in the four states show that this is the beginning of a new era and vision, and an end to dynastic rule in India. Because of bad governance by the Congress, people chose BJP. Moreover, people have been looking forward to good leadership from many years and now their wish is coming true. People are expecting a clean and transparent government in the country. People are looking for a great change ahead and this is its beginning. I congratulate all party workers of the nation, the state and the district."
MLC Monappa Bhandary said, “This is the end of Congress rule. There is no chance of Congress coming to power in future. Congress will vanish completely. In Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh people have blessed BJP for the third time."
Addressing the gathering of jubilant party members president of Mangalore BJP unit Srikar Prabhu said, "We deserve this victory. We are very happy to see BJP come out with flying colours."
Former BJP MLA Yogish Bhat said, "We want India to be free of Congress. People want to see an end to corruption and corrupt practices followed by the Congress."
The party members distributed sweets and burst crackers in celebration.
Sudhir Shetty, Nithin Kumar, Pushpalatha Gatti, Capt Brijesh Chowta, Sathish Prabhu, Roopa D Bangera, local unit Yuva Morcha president Sandeep Shetty, former Yuva Morch president Raghavendra Rao, treasurer Kiran Rai and others were present.
