Kundapur: Elections in three gram panchayats on Dec 8

Kundapur, Dec 7: Byndoor, Yadthare and Gangolli are all set for gram panchayats elections on Sunday December 8. December 2 being the last date for withdrawing nominations, 181 candidates are still in the fray.  No candidates are likely to be elected unopposed.
 
As many as 204 candidates had submitted their nominations, out of which 23 withdrew their candidatures.  As the list of candidates is finalized, election heat has increased.  Tug of war is likely in the wards.  Activists of political parties will fight hard to maintain their prestige.


 

78 candidates in Gangolli gram panchayat

Gangolli gram panchayat has 78 candidates in the fray. Altogether, 85 nominations were submitted till November 28, the last date for submission, and 6 candidates withdrew the nominations. BJP and Congress supported candidates are 33 each and 12 are independents.
 
G T Jayanti, Nagaraj Kharvi, Bronson Fernandes, Reshma Kharvi and Sarita are BJP supported candidates in Gangolli one ward while Indira Poojary, Edward Kardin, Nagesh Kharvi, Padma and Sarojini Kodikar are Congress supported.  Dinesh Poojary is the only independent.
 
Gangolli ward number 2 has Karunakar K H, Chitra R Shet, Rajkiran, Sarita (BJP supported), Abdul Hadi, K Younus Saheb, Sara Banu, Sushila Sherugar (Congress supported), Tabrez, Mohammed Hanif and Saiduna M H (Independent).
 
Gangoli ward number 3 has Geetha, Gopala Kharvi, Raja, Laxmi Ganiga(BJP supported), Udaya Kharvi, Ganapathi Kharvi, Girija Manjunath and Nirmala R  Poojary (Congress supported).
 
Gangolli ward number 4 has B Ganesh Shenoy, Nagini, Laxmi Poojary, G Sudhakar Kharvi (BJP), Durgaraj Poojary, Nirmala Pais, Vijay Kharvi, Shobha Krishna Billava (Congress supported) and G Laxmana Poojary (independent).
 
Gangoli ward number 5 has Mahesh Raj Poojary, Manti Srinivas Kharvi, Lalita Kharvi, Santa Baretto (BJP supported), Janni Kharvi, Rosy Fernandes, Srinivas Jattan, Surendra D Kharvi (Congress supported), Ibrahim, Nagaraj T and  Mohammed Imran K (Independents).
 
Gangolli ward number 6 has Kantu Manjunath Kharvi, Padma, Rekha Kharvi, B Laxminkanth Madivala, Swati Madiwala (BJP supported), Jayanti Kharvi, Prakash Kharvi, Priti Fernandes, Mujahid Ali Nakhuda, Manjula S Devadiga(Congress supported), Abdul Azeez, H Abdul Gafoor, Zainula Abidin Nakhuda and Saiduna M H (Independents).
 
Gangolli ward number 7 has Gangadhar S R G, Saku Udaya G, Sakamma (BJP supported), Kamala, Surekha Kanoji and Santosh (Congress supported).
 
Gangolli ward number 8 has G Keshava Kharvi, G Chandu, Sharada, Srinivas Kharvi (BJP supported), Akkamma, Rajendra Sherugar, Ramadasa Kharvi and Sushila Madhava Kharvi (Congress supported).
 

Byndoor gram panchayat has 47 candidates

In Byndoor, for 21 positions in six wards, 60 nominations were submitted.  As 13 candidates withdrew their nominations, 47 candidates are still in the fray.
 
Byndoor ward number one has Mahabala, Janardhana, Mahadevi, Sushila, Indira Devadiga, Krishna Acharya, Poornima Sherugar, Madhu and Ramachandra Devadiga.  Ward No 2 has Raghavendra, Salita, Raju Sherigar and Saroja.  Ward No. 3 has Vittala, Masti, Manju, Sujatha, Baghirathi, Bhaskara, Rajendra D, Venkata Poojary and Seetu Mogaveera.  Ward No. 4 has Kumara Marati, Saroja, Perli Philip, Achamma, Jaya, K Bhaskar Marati, Mookambika and Shivananda.  Thaggarse ward No. 1 has Radha, T Narayana Poojary, Seetha, Malati, Nagaratna Chendan, K Balakrishna Hegde, Bhavani Ganiga and Laxmi.  Taggarse 2nd ward has Nagaraj Ganiga, Raju, Laxmi, Chandu, Abbakka Poojary, Renuka Marati, Seetharama Ganiga and Somayya Poojary.
 

Yadthare gram panchayat - 56 candidates

Yadthare gram has always witnessed tough fight.  Its first ward has Lalita Marati, E J Ronti, Udaya Poojary, Nayana, Ananta Kotari, Kaveri Shetty, Sheena Kotari, Sudha Marati and Santosh K S. Ward 2 has Nagaraja Shetty, Buddhi Nagayya Gonda, Ravindra Shetty and Laxmi.  Third ward has Satya Prasanna, Mukambu, Veronika D’ Souza, Asha Kishore, Chandra Devadiga and Lachu Devadiga.  4th ward has Leelavathi, Krishna Devadiga, Sushila, Mahesh Devadiga, Vasanti, Vishalakshi Poojary, Shabir, Shashikala Poojary and Srikanth Devadiga
 
Ward number 5 has Girish Byndoor, Kalavati, Krishnayya Shetty, Radha, Ananda Shetty, Nakatte, Chandravati Mogaveera and Madhukar Shet.  Ward number 6 has Saroja, Shanti Pereira, D Abdul Khader, Gunaratna Shetty, Gopala, Shameem, Shekh Fayaz Ali, Leela Devadiga, Sharada L Devadiga and Shanker Devadiga. The 7th ward has Sudhakar Devadiga, Martan Dais, Haseena Bibi, Venkappa Devadiga, Srinivas Shet and Surayya Banu. The 8th ward has Meenakshi, Raju, Gulabi, Mukambu Devadiga, Radha Poojary and Heriya Devadiga.
 
Yadthare gram has 8 wards and 25 positions. As many as 60 nominations were submitted here.  Four candidates withdrew their nominations and 56 candidates are in the fray.
