Bantwal, Dec 4: The two day sports festival organized by the Don Bosco Youth Association Agrar came to an end with the valedictory ceremony on December 1.
Addressing the valedictory and prize distribution ceremony the chief guest Fr Ronald Dsouza, director of ICYM Central council Mangalore Diocese appreciated the youth of Don Bosco Youth Association Agrar for conducting this tournament in the systematic manner.
He said, “It is very appreciable fact to know that through the medium of sports the youth of Agrar have been able to unite the youth of this region. The active participation of the various teams have given the message that all these years the tournament has been conducted with the spirit of livelihood and peace.”
He later said that through the participation of many teams the winner is decided. All the participating teams are the true winners of the tournament.
The Parish priest of Agrar and Director of Don Bosco Youth Association Fr Benjamin Pinto appreciated the youth for conducting the tournament with great discipline.
Along with the Fr Ronald and Fr Benjamin the dignitaries present at the dais were the president of Moodbidri Deanery ICYM Selwin Jude Colaco, The vice-president of Agrar Church Parish Council Cyril D’Mello, president of Don Bosco Youth Association Roman Dsouza and Sports Secretary Michal Galbao.

Earlier the inaugural ceremony of the tournament was held on Saturday November 30. The Vicar- Var of Bantwal Deanery Very Fr Maxim Monteiro inaugurated the tournament. Parish Priest Fr Benjamin Pinto, Fr Benedict Noronha, vice-president of Mangalore Central Council Joshwa Dsouza, Parish Council Secretary Nelson Frank, president Roman Dsouza, Secretary Jenissa Douza, Sports Secretary Michal Galbao were present at the occasion.
The two day tournament was organized between the catholic teams of Bantwal and Moodbidri deanery for the successive 20th year in memory of Late Fr CJ Aranha who created educational revolution in the village of Agrar.
