Mumbai CST-Mangalore Express gets joyful welcome at Bhatkal station

Bhatkal, Dec 3: Bhatkal citizens welcomed the Mumbai CST-Mangalore Express with great joy on Sunday December 1. Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya flagged off the train in the evening at the Bhatkal railway station.
The train which halted for the first time at 10:40 am at the Bhatkal railway station was welcomed by the local people who also felicitated social worker and former Bhatkal municipal councillor Syed Hassan Barmavar with a garland, for his efforts in making this possible. Barmavar had written more than 50 letters to four railway ministers and the President in this matter.
The Konkan Railway train 12133/12134 Mumbai CST-Mangalore Express will halt at Bhatkal on an experimental basis for six months.
During the evening programme Tanzeem, general secretary, Muhiddin Altaf Kharuri, Muslim leader Inayatullah Shahbandari, Vittal Nailk, Abdul Rahim Shaikh and many others were present.
On the occaison, Syed Hassan Barmawar submitted two memorandums to the station master - first one with regard to the setting up of railway ticket counter in the town and secondly regarding the poor customer service at the phone counter in the Bhatkal railway station.
Bhatkal people have been facing various issues regarding phone services at the station.
