Mumbai: Singer Agnes D'Souza, wife of late Jerome, passes away

Mumbai, Dec 2: Noted singer Agnes D'Souza, wife of singer and composer the late Jerome D’Souza, passed away on Monday December 2 following heart attack.

She charmed scores of Konkani music fans with her famous song 'Sheghunanchi Sunn'. She has sung alongside Jerome D’souza for more than 40 years.

She was the lady behind the phenomenal success of Jerome D’Souza and an inspiration to her children who are all into music. Her voice was so versatile that she could sing any pitch with ease and confidence and hit high notes. A happy person, always jovial, she danced with passion and was the life of every party.

Her children Rayan, Reena and Ritesh are also singers.

Funeral cortege leaves residence on Tuesday December 3 at 3.30 pm to IC Church, Borivili West. Funeral mass at 4pm.

    Just three days back watched DVD 'Tribute to Jerome D'souza'2011 and saw her singing and dancing.
    50 years back Jerome D'Souza had come to our place since then i enjoy listening his songs. May Jerome D'souza and Agnes Bai's soul rest in peace.

    Sad to hear the news of the demise of our beloved Agnesbai. She was a great pillar of strength to one of Konkani's great singer/composer (late) Jerome D'Souza during his lifetime. I still remember the great cooperation and help that she extended to Ancy Palladka who approached her on behalf of DoReMeFa, in providing relevant information to publish (late) Jerome's profile on Daijiworld eight years back.
