Mangalore: White Doves to organize street shows from Dec 5-8

Mangalore, Dec 2: "White Doves NGO will conduct the annual mobile street shows from December 5 to December 8," said Corrine Rasquinha, founder president of White Doves. She was addressing the media at the press club on Monday December 2.

For the 19th year in a row the White Doves have been involved in taking care of destitutea and running two homes here in Mangalore with over 96 inmates all picked up from the streets of Mangalore irrespective of their caste, religion or creed.

They will be staging their street plays during the Christmas season.

Below are the venues of street shows:

December 5: 8 pm - at Infant Jesus Shrine grounds, Bikarnakatte
December 6: 6 pm - at Kallianpur Church grounds, Udupi and 8 pm - at Udupi Church grounds
December 7: 6:30 pm - at Nehru Maidan, Kundapur
December 8: 6 pm - at Nehru Maidan, Mangalore and 8 pm - at Padua grounds

These shows in song and act bring together over 135 artists from varied backgrounds to pool in their talents.

The organisers have invited all to be present and witness this programme. Seating arrangements will be provided and the entrance is free.

Vitus Rasquinha, trustee and Jerald Fernandes, manager White Doves were also present at the press meet.
