Tejpal not cooperative, dodging: Goa Police

Panaji, Nov 29 (IANS): Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal has been non-cooperative and has been avoiding the police even though his custodial interrogation was required to investigate the sexual assault case against him, Goa Police said in their written "say" to the Panaji district and sessions court Friday.

The police "say" was filed in response to an anticipatory bail application by Tejpal's counsel Geeta Luthra earlier in the morning.

After hearing Tejpal's counsel, District and Sessions Judge Anuja Prabhudessai granted interim bail to Tejpal until 2.30 p.m., while at the same time directing investigating officer Sunita Sawant to file a formal response before the court.
