Mangalore, Nov 25: Mushtaq, one of the two persons arrested by Bihar police in connection with an illegal money trail allegedly run by Aysha Banu and her husband Zubair, was on Monday November 25 produced in the third JMFC court here.
Mustaq (45), a resident of Sooralpady near Bajpe was arrested on Saturday November 23 for his alleged links with Zubair and Aysha, residents of Panjimogeru, who were arrested earlier this month by the Bihar police in connection to an illegal money trail linked to Pakistan.
Another person, identified as Mohammed Asif (24), who completed his BBM degree last year, was also arrested on Saturday. He was produced in court earlier and given a transit warrant.
When Mushtaq was produced in court on Monday, his family submitted a letter to the judge Manjula Hundi stating that Mushtaq was suffering from cancer and should be shown leniency.
The court ordered Mushtaq to be taken for medical examination the same day.
Mushtaq will be once again produced in the court on Tuesday November 26.
Sources said that Zubair used to call Asif and Mushtaq on the phone frequently and it is suspected that they have some link in the illegal money trail for which Aysha and Zubair were arrested in the second week of November. The couple are now in Bihar on transit warrant.
