Mangalore: Nagesh Shetty takes charge as station manager of Air India

Mangalore, Nov 21: Nagesh Shetty has taken over charge as station manager of Air India and Air India Express at Mangalore.
Nagesh Shetty assumed charge of his office from November 16. He took over from Melwyn D'Silva.
He was earlier posted at Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Mangalore and the latest being at Kuala Lumpur(Malaysia) and Bangkok (Thailand) as manager.
Speaking to daijiworld, Nagesh Shetty said that he will plan his new responsibility looking at the demands of the local passengers, including planning on new destinations from Mangalore, and work according to market requirements.
He said his priority would be to keep the passengers happy.
He also felt that there was potential for cargo services at Mangalore airport.
Apart from holding different posts in various places, he is also a regional hockey player and had represented Indian Airlines. He also loves to travel.
Meanwhile, Melwyn D'Silva who held the post before Nagesh Shetty, has been transferred to Ahmedabad as deputy general manager of Air India.
