Karkala, Nov 8: In an interesting twist to the case wherein an unmarried couple had reportedly attempted suicide after being discovered in a hospital, the boy who allegedly jumped off hospital building has now claimed that he was thrown out from the third floor by a group.
Pooja (name changed) and Satish (name changed) had allegedly committed suicide on November 5 night in the City Hospital where Pooja works as a nurse. Satish had come to give her a food parcel. The watchman had seen him enter the room where only lady staff are allowed, and asked the couple to open the door. Satish was later found hiding in the room, and after a brief chaos, he reportedly jumped off the third floor while Pooja allegedly cut her veins.
However, Satish in his statement to the police has now claimed that when he went to give food to the girl, he was assaulted by miscreants on the third floor and thrown out, and that he had not jumped.
Satish, who was critically injured in his back, hands and legs, is recuperating in KMC hospital.
In his complaint Satish stated that Joduraste resident Srikanth and three others had assualted him and then thrown him down from the third floor.
As per Satish's statement, the police have booked the accused under IPC sections 323, 325,307 and 34.
