Mangalore: Dr Alva releases ‘Satya Sanjeevini-Part 2’

Mangalore, Nov 1: Dr Mohan Alva, president, Alva’s Education Foundation ®, Moodbidri, presided over and released ‘Satya Sanjeevini-Part 2’, written by young writer Dr Shailesh M D in association with Alva’s Education Foundation ®, Moodbidri.

The release function was held in the seminar hall of the P G Block, Alva’s Ayurvedic Medical College recently. K Abhayachandra Jain, state fisheries, youth, and sports minister was the chief guest.

Speaking after releasing the book Dr Alva said that today Ayurveda is in demand across the world. “Hence, there is a need to preserve medicinal herbs, plants, and trees. This book ‘Satya Sanjeevini’ gives a clear introduction of Ayurvedic sources and hence it will be liked by many. The writings in the book not only impress the students, but also the general public,” he said.

In his address, Jain said, “I am proud of Dr Shailesh as he has done such a great thing at a young age.” He further wished that this young talent would write lots of books on Ayurveda and health sciences.

Dr Raghuram Bhat, head, chemistry department, Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College, Mangalore, and Dr M Neha Samapriya were felicitated on the occasion. An amount of Rs 30,000 as compensation for Uttarakhand flood relief was also released on the occasion.

Dr Vinay Chandra Shetty, principal, Alva’s Ayurvedic Medical College, Moodbidri, and Dr Subrahmanya Padyana, head, chemistry department, Alva’s Ayurvedic Medical College, Moodbidri, were also present on the occasion. Advocate Shubhasahana proposed the vote of thanks. Muniraj Renjal compered the event.
