Dubai, March 27: Konkani events in the U.A.E. came to a standstill during the season of Lent. As the season unfolds unto ‘Easter’ very soon there is a lot of excitement and expectation from the music-lovers. To capture their anxiety, here comes the first major and 100% traditional Konkani musical event, immediately after the Easter - 'Mandd Sobhann' - in celebration of seventh anniversary of Daijidubai – the Forum of Konkani Writers in the U.A.E.
Vishwa Konkani Kala Ratn and the President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Akademi Bab Eric Ozario and Joyce Ozario are the leading lights of the programme. Accompanying them from different directions of Dubai, are Rony D'Cunha, the singer much in demand from Kuwait, Manoj and Annada Pattanaik, and two highly-talented professional musicians scheduled to arrive from Bangalore. Dr Rashmi Kiran and Ritesh Kiran, currently residing in Dubai, will be the other two singers forming part of Mandd Sobhann.

And to complete the group family picture, the multitalented Sandalwood music director, and the most recent successful music album Dini Dini fame Allwyn Fernandes will of course be there to hold the baton of Directorship.
While ‘Daiji Dubai’ has released a very limited seats for public, it is requested to seize the first available opportunity by clicking the electronic form and reserving the seats on ‘first come first served basis’. Invitation cards will be available on-line for a few days only.
"We promise to provide one of Konkani's best and quality musical programme complete in a fitting traditional ethnic environment and laser display” said Allwyn Fernandes, the music director while talking to this correspondent.
Besides the above musical enteratinment, the Daiji Rang Mandir will also present a short skit 'Lekh Mhalyaar Lekhch', written by Mick-Max and directed by Ace Director Hemacharya. “You will hear more about this comedy skit very soon” – Said Hemacharya when we prodded him for more details.
While the entire programme will be conducted by the Master Compere Walter Nandalike, the ‘Mandd Sobhann’ part will be compered by Melvyn Rodrigues, the renowned poet and lyricist and one of the founder members of ‘Mandd Sobhann’.
