Mangalore: 2.5 kg gold seized at airport in two separate incidents

Mangalore, Oct 25: Customs officials at Mangalore International Airport on Thursday October 24 seized around 2.5 kg of gold which was illegally being brought in two separate flights.
A passenger who landed at the airport from Dubai via Air India Express flight was taken into custody as he had hidden 1.5 kg of gold in his luggage.
In the second incident, a security personnel found 1 kg of gold hidden under the seat of a Jet Airways flight which landed in the airport from Dubai. The gold was handed over to the customs officials.
Six rods of gold coated with steak were found in this case, sources said.
The identities of the passengers and other details were not immedialtely available.
