New Delhi, Oct 23 (IANS): Swedish luxury automobile manufacturer Volvo Auto India Wednesday launched the next generation of its sedan S60 and crossover sports utility vehicle (SUV) XC60, priced between Rs.29.90 lakh and Rs.46.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The luxury sedan has been priced Rs.29.90-35.50 lakh, while the crossover SUV has been in the range of Rs.40.50-46.55 lakh.
The next generation models have incorporated some features like laser assisted automatic braking, instrument cluster with three digital modes and daytime running lights.
The company is upbeat on these models to drive sale, as their predecessors have constituted nearly 65-70 percent of the total sales of the company in India.
"We expect to sell around a thousand units in this full calendar year. Both these models constitute 65-70 percent of the total sales in India," Tomas Ernberg, managing director, Volvo Auto India, said.
Ernberg added that the company planned to start new dealerships in Kolkata, Vizag and west Delhi soon.
The Swedish car manufacturer entered India in 2007 and currently offers five models in the Indian market.
