Doha: Countdown begins for MCA's 5th anniversary bash

Doha, Oct 23: Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), Doha-Qatar, affiliated to Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) under the aegis of Indian Embassy Doha-Qatar, is all set to celebrate its fifth anniversary in style by presented the thrilling Konkani drama '...Nathlya Vellar' staged by the amateur but talented team of Dubai-based artistes of Daiji Rang Mandir and Daiji Dubai.
The event will begin at 5 pm at Regency Hall, near Al Ahli Stadium, D Ring Road, Doha on Friday October 25.
The popular drama, which has already received tremendous accolades in the UAE, Bangalore and Udupi where it was presented successfully last year and earlier this year, will be the main attraction at MCA 5th anniversary celebration bash.
Arthur Pais, leading the MCA from the front, says that all arrangements are in place. Konkani community in Doha has responded positively to the event, as MCA has been premier organization in Doha, supporting and helping needy people here as well as back home.
Patron and advisory board member Felix Lobo who is known to be the pillar of Konkani community in Doha expressed his delight in presenting the Konkani drama on this occasion. "We hardly get to see good quality Konkani dramas in Doha due to various technical reasons. We are looking forward to present this play for Konkani theatre lovers in Doha. Also, on the same occasion, we will confer awards on three top Konkani artistes who have done a lot to Konkani stage."
Renowned Konkani artistes of yesteryears Benna Ruzai, Charles Sequeira from Mangalore and Doha's Mable Fernandes will be the recipients of the 'Kala Award' from MCA.
