Manipal Group holds marathon to create environmental awareness

Udupi, Oct 22: The Manipal Group of organizations held a marathon to spread awareness on environment on Sunday October 20 at around 6.30 am.

Nearly 1300 people consisting of heads of departments and staff in the Manipal group of companies actively participated the 'The Sprint 2013 Marathon' held by the organization to showcase their commitment towards a clean environment.

The marathon that started at the corporate office was set in motion by Vanitha G Pai, CEO of Ekam.  Abhay Gupthe, CEO of MTNL; Nagesh Kamath, director of MMNL; Sagar Mukhyopadyay, vice president of corporate division; Roopesh, president of colours; D Rajashekhar Reddy, chief secretary and others were present.

Colours banner was uncovered at the event.  Ramachandra Mijar, vice president of MMNL welcomed.

Arun Bhaskar, chief manager of IT division and Balu Vishnuprasad Venugopal, vice president of Strategy division participated in prize distribution ceremony.

The six kilometers long marathon went via Tiger circle, DC office circle, MIT bus stand and Venugopal temple.
