Iron ore scam: CBI nabs absconding BJP MLA at Bangalore Airport

Bangalore, Oct 17 (Agencies): CBI arrested former tourism Minister and BJP MLA  Anand Singh on Thursday. The MLA had been absconding from a month.

Anand Singh was nabbed at the Bangalore International Airport as he flew in from Singapore, where he had been hiding.

The MLA is an accused in the Belekeri port iron ore export scam case. He had fled to Singapore just before the CBI had summoned him for questioning at its Bangalore office last month.

He had slipped out dramatically before a CBI alert on him fleeing the country had reached the airports.

Later, Singh's counsel had filed an anticipatory bail petition in the CBI court in Bangalore stating that the MLA was in Singapore for treatment for a heart ailment.

In the petition, Singh has pleaded that he has been co-operating with the CBI all through the probe and now the CBI was unnecessarily thinking of arresting him, though he was innocent.

The court ahd rejected his petition and declared him an absconder.

    True.. India is a country of cheats.. The other day i asked a known carpenter to repair my wardrobe lock, he said he will require 300 rupees to buy some stuff, its now been 8 days no news from him and secondly they had recently tarred the road in my neighborhood, its been only a few months and now its looks as though US ped a missile on this road.

    The sad part is all of them loot the middle class "Aam Admi".

    All want to take shelter under the NaMo banner.They think if NoMo comes to power means all CBI can be bought overnight. Please note that the CBI is not for sale,but NaMo is for sale for rupees ten for 2 hours. The NaMo brigade is dreaming of BJP government and bail for Reddy’s so that the hidden wealth in Bellary woods can be utilized for party fund.
    Let us hope that the BJP dream never come true and India will develop slow and steady. We do not want development at a dragons speed like what we see in China.The world compares India as a Elephant and it is true that India is developing like a Elephants walk,slow and steady.

    Where is the Moral Police Squad? Are they fit only to catch cows, attack churches, Beat innocent girls and attack handicap persons?

    Feel really bad for the people of our state. We are too soft & these people coming from other parts of the country have looted our state. None of these people who made money from mining are Kannadigas. On the other hand we lost our roads & other infrastructure because of those people & innocent people voted them back again & again without understanding the reality .
    Just hope those goons will be behind bars forever & money looted is recovered & spent on the state infrastructure.
