Udupi, Oct 15: In yet another incident of its kind in the coastal region, a banner showing Gujarat CM and BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi was damaged by miscreants.
The incident occured at Parkala here at around midnight on Monday October 14.
Strongly condemning the incident, the NaMo Brigade, a group campaigning in support of Narendra Modi, held a protest on Tuesday October 15.
The members of NaMo Brigade, which had put up the banner, gathered at the spot along with local BJP leaders.
The NaMo Brigade warned that if such incidents recur in future, strict action would be taken.
The Manipal police arrived at the spot and took down the banner to avoid further trouble.
A case has been registered in Manipal police station.
This is not the first time a banner of Narendra Modi has been desecrated. Earlier Modi banners were set on fire or torn at Mudipu, Gurpur and Konaje near Mangalore.
