Bangalore, Oct 10: In a surprise political development in the state capital, well-known Sandalwood actor and chairman of Kannada development board Mukyamantri Chandru resigned from BJP's primary membership.
Speaking to daijiworld from his residence, Chandru said that he is resigning for personal reasons, and that he has sent the resignation letter to BJP state president Prahlad Joshi.
Asked if he was disappointed with the BJP, he said, "Yes, I am disappointed that I have been sidelined in the party; there was hardly any place for me in the recent reshuffle of BJP committees."
There are rumours going around in political circles that Chandru might join Congress before the parliamentary elections. But when Daijiworld asked which party he was going to join next, he said, "I am not joining any political party, but I want to strive for the betterment of Kannada language. I have plans to contest in the forthcoming parliamentary polls, as I want to raise voice for Kannada in the parliament."
