Udupi: Raghupati Bhat ties the knot with Shilpa Shastry in simple ceremony

Udupi, Oct 9: Former Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat on Wednesday October 9 tied the knot for a second time at a simple ceremony held at Karamballi Venkataramana Temple here.
Bhat married Shilpa Shastry at around 8.20 am as per religious rituals.
Speaking to mediapersons, Bhat's brother Ramesh Baritthaya said that the family had urged Raghupati Bhat to remarry and settle in life once again. Respecting their wishes, he has tied the knot, he said.
Asked about Bhat's earlier annoucement that he would take a sabbatical of two years from active politics, Baritthaya said that the decision was entirely left to Bhat and he would not comment on it.
"Raghupati Bhat has got married with the consent of both families," he added.
Leaders like former Byndoor MLA Laxminirayarana, BJP's Sudhakar Shetty, builder Manohar Shetty, G Shankar of G Shankar Family Trust, councillor Dinakar Shetty Herga and others attended the wedding and wished the couple.
Shilpa Shastry, who hails from Barkur, is a divorcee. She was earlier married to the son of a retired ASI.
