Kasargod: Multiple rape claim by girl - Police arrest two

Kasargod, Oct 8: Kumble police on Tuesday October 8 arrested two persons following allegations by a 19-year-old girl that she was raped by six persons over a period of time.
The accused arrested are Muneer (25), resident of Patwadi and owner of a fancy store in Uppala, and Moideen Kunhi (37) a resident of Bangra, Manjeshwar, and fish monger in Uppala market.
It is said that the girl was raped by six persons in various places. Police have arrested two of the accused and they are in search of the remaining four.
Moreover, one of the six accused is said to be the girl’s uncle.
It is learnt that the girl had visited Muneer’s fancy store as a customer. Muneer took her cell phone number and contacted her and established a good rapport. One day, he took her took to a lodge and raped her. The girl, who was working as a maid at a residence in Bangra, Manjeshwar, was raped a second time by Moideen Kunhi.
In March this year, while the girl was waiting at Kumble bus stand at night, a person who came in a Sumo Car took her to Kasargod new bus stand building and allegedly raped her. After this, she was abandoned in the city where Kasargod police found the girl and took her to the station for inquiry where she revealed all details. The police later arrested the man.
On the same night, the girl was taken from the police station to Paravadka Mahila Mandir. From there she was taken into the care of child helpline counseling unit. The girl then divulged all information about the serial rapes.
The girl in her complaint stated that she was raped by Muneer in a lodge, by Bashir in a remote place, by Razak in the house of her relatives, by Ibrahim in a house in Bekur and by Moideen and his friend in a house in Kaikamba.
Cases have been registered in Kumble as well as Kasargod police stations.
