Mangalore, Oct 7: Professor C S Shastry, principal, Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Paneer, inaugurated the Allied health science courses at Fr Muller Medical College (FMMC) on Monday October 7.
Speaking after the inauguration professor C S Shastry said “young students that have joined different courses who are ready to aspire a lot from their lives must be focused and inculcate proper time management.”
He also said, “the ideology of ‘ASK’ should be implemented in every student’s life, which stands for 'attitude, skill and knowledge'.”
"With education, people tend to become self centric, duties become secondary and rights become primary. Thus students must have a right outlook," he added.
The courses inaugurated under the allied health science for the academic year 2013 – 14, will consist of courses such as bachelors in physiotherapy, masters in hospital administration, MSc and BSc in medical laboratory, BSc in medical imaging technology and BSc in radio therapy.
Dr Jayaprakash Alva, dean of FMMC delivered the welcome speech and Fr Rudolph Ravi D'Sa, administrator of FMMC introduced the chief guest.
'The Artificer', the first newsletter of the physiotherapy department was released by Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of FMMC.
Fr Patrick Rodrigues said, “Students must have faith and confidence in the courses chosen by them, they should also have determination and perseverance throughout their career.”
The vote of thanks was delivered by professor Narsimha, head of the physiotherapy department.
