South African woman arrested with narcotics at IGI


New Delhi, Oct 5 (IANS): A South African woman was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport after eight kg of a narcotic substance was found in her luggage, an official said Saturday.

Bella Moloi, in her 40s, was caught when Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel recovered bags of pseudoephedrine during scanning of her baggage. She was later arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau.

"Moloi, having passport number A02639946, was to board an Air India (AI48) flight to Kochi and further supposed to travel to Dubai on an Emirates flight (EK533)," said a CISF official.

"During scanning of her baggage, 11 poly bags filled with pseudoephedrine, approximately 8 kg, in powder form were recovered. The recovered drug is valued Rs. 19 lakh in Indian market and Rs. 1.6 crore in international market. We informed Narcotics Control Bureau who arrested the woman," said the official.
