Shimla, Oct 5 (IANS): Himachal Pradesh chief parliamentary secretary Rajesh Dharmani, who had resigned expressing dissatisfaction over the post he was given, has since withdrawn his resignation, an official said Saturday.
Dharmani met Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Friday evening and later withdrew his resignation, a government spokesperson told IANS.
After he put in his papers, the chief minister had asked Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri to speak with him and redress his grievances, a senior Congress leader said.
According to party insiders, Dharmani, who resigned two days ago, had said that the post of chief parliamentary secretary lacked power.
The Himachal chief minister's decision to appoint his loyalists to plum posts also irked him, a party source said.
A civil engineer by profession, Dharmani is the second time legislator from Ghumarwin in Bilaspur district.
Earlier, Rakesh Kalia had resigned from the post of chief parliamentary secretary to uphold the principle of "one-man, one-post" after he was made secretary of the All-India Congress Committee.
