Mangalore, Oct 4: The journalism department of Mangalore University College organized a talk on ‘Opportunities for youth in media’ at Ravindra Kalabhavan on Thursday October 3.
Jayaprakash Shetty, chief anchor of Suvarna News 24×7, was the chief guest and resource person.
Parvathi Appayya, additional principal, journalism department head Satyanarayan among others shared the dais.
Jayaprakash Shetty in his address spoke about the differences between print media and electronic media. He said there many opportunities for youth in media in the city, provided one should be good. When we talk about media people in the state, most of them are from Dakshina Kannada district, he said.
Commenting on how electronic media works, Shetty said the main problem in this field is language as Kannada needs to be accepted in electronic media. While anchoring, even mouth movement, facial expression is also important, he added.
He asked students to choose the subject in which they are interested before entering media. Jayaprakash Shetty also interacted with the students and answered to their queries.
