Mangalore, Oct 4: Prerana, a trust founded by the Infosys Employees Welfare Association organized a student’s scholarship award function ‘Pratibha Poshak – 2013’ recently which was held at Infosys Development Centre Mangalore as a part of their student community welfare projects.
V K Talittaya, chairman Primacy Industries, Mangalore graced the occasion as chief guest and awarded student scholarships to 504 meritorious and deserving students of D K and Udupi Dist’s to the tune of Rs 19.92 lakhs an initiative to support academically outstanding students who are economically weak to support their future professional education. The event was also jointly sponsored by Dhrithi Foundation, Yakshagana Kalaranga, Udupi and Supraja Foundation.
Bhaskar Chiknanjundappa, director I-Point Consulting Pvt Ltd, Gangadhar Rao, vice president, Yakshagana Kalaranga, Udupi and Raviraj Belma, trustee, Prerana Trust, Infosys Mangalore were also present.
On this occasion Shreekanth Shenoy delivered a guest lecture on “Developing Personal Traits to become a True Professional” and “Career Guidance – What after PUC” by Rama Prasad from Infosys.
Later students had a interaction with the speakers.
Prerana, the employee run CSR wing at Infosys Mangalore focuses on creating a positive impact on the society by nurturing a culture of community welfare and development amongst Infoscians. This is the 7th year in succession that the Prerana Trust and Dhrithi Foundation and Yakshagana Kalaranga are extending financial support to the needy and meritorious students of D K and Udupi districts.
