M'lore: NSS unit at Nitte Institute holds blood donation camp

Mangalore, Oct 1: A blood donation camp was organized by the NSS unit of NGSM institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences to mark the  'National Voluntary Blood Donation Day' in joint collaboration with Youth Red Cross Wing (A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences), Blood Bank Unit of Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital at Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Paneer, Deralakatte.

Dr B Rajendra Prasad, dean of Dental Sciences (AB Shetty), Dr Murali Mohan, NSS programme co-ordinator Nitte University, Dr Santhosh Shenoy, programme officer of youth Red Cross society, Dr C S Shastry, principal NGSMIPS were present on this occasion.

 

 The ceremony began by invoking the almighty’s blessings with a prayer song from the students of NGSMIPS. On this occasion dignitaries were felicitated.

In his address Dr B Rajendra Prasad, briefed about the importance of Blood Donation and about noble initiative taken by the Nitte University. Dr C S Shastry, Dr Murali Mohan addressed the gathering. More than 50 volunteers including students, teaching and non teaching staff participated in this camp.

Nehala Naseer thanked the gathering.
