Dubai, Sep 30 : Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) an aspiring team from UAE was officially launched on Friday September 27 at a grand party organized at the Indian Club, Dubai.
The event was graced by international cricket players Charles Coventry and Peter Christopher Connell from Zimbabwe and Ireland respectively, who are in Dubai courtesy Neeraj Ramamoorthy for playing cricket for his Wings XI team.
Mohammed Rafeek and Jovita Aranha, hosts for the evening welcomed the guests, sponsors and well-wishers and thanked them for their participation in celebrating this day with the players. Robin Rodrigues, captain of MCC, briefed the gathering on the club's principle values, its motto and its vision to provide opportunity to young cricketers from Mangalore and other communities around the area.
MCC sponsors Roamworks LLC, Truckzone Line Transport LLC, Bluechem, Emirates Honing, Four Triangle and Show Time showered their support and wished good luck to the team members. The event also witnessed an inspiration speech by Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld signifying the importance of playing fair, clean and preserving the spirit of the gentleman’s game. Fun-filled activities and games were arranged for kids and family members to keep them entertained throughout the evening.
A short presentation on MCC team’s strength, player’s profile and statistics was presented to the guests. Spot prices too were arranged, sponsored by Treat (Ambot-Tik)Restaurant –Karama and Queens Crown Beauty Saloon - Karama.
