Mangalore: Lorry overturns at Konaje - One dead, six injured

Mangalore, Sep 30: One person died on the spot and six others were injured after a lorry went out of control and rolled over near Mangalore University at Konaje here on Sunday September 29.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Breksahani (37), a native of Bihar.
Abdul Majeed, Devanand, Ram Lala Sahani, Kanaja Sahani, Ganor Sahani, and Umesh Sahani were the injured.
The lorry (KL 13 C 1647), after loading interlock tiles at Malar near Pavoor, was plying towards Thokkottu via Konaje. The driver lost control near Mangalore University and the lorry rolled over.
It is said that the lorry driver could not control the vehicle while negotiating the curve near Ganesh Mahal.
Seven persons who were in the lorry, including the driver, were stuck inside. Later the locals shifted the lorry to another spot and rescued the injured. However, the cleaner died on the spot.
The injured were shifted to a hospital in Deralakatte.
A case has been registered in Konaje police station.
