Kasargod: Woman commits suicide in Kuwait, body brought to hometown

Kasargod, Sep 29: The mortal remains of a woman who died in Kuwait were brought to her hometown Madikai here on Sunday September 29.

Sushma (33), wife of Prakash Krishnan, allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the building she was staying in.

The mortal remains were brought to Mangalore International Airport on Sunday morning and then taken to her house in Madikai.

Sushma's father Kunhi Krishna and others family members were informed about her suspected suicide, and the body was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

Soon after the incident, Prakash Krishnan, resident of Kushalnagar, Kanhangad had told the family members that Sushma had committed suicide.

Kunhi Krishnan, however, has written to Indian ambassador in Kuwait, the Kasargod district police and other officials expressing doubts about Sushma's death.

On the orders of higher police officials of the district, Ambalathara police have registered a case of unnatural death.

Prakash Krishnan accompanied the body during the transit from Kuwait.

Prakash and Sushma had settled in Kuwait 10 years ago. Last Tuesday, Sushma reportedly jumped from the window of their apartment and sustained grievous injuries. She was rushed to hospital but failed to respond to the treatment. The family members back home were then informed.

Sushma's family members have urged police to conduct a thorough investigation into her death.

    Anyone goes thru this extreme step only in times of complete despair or if mentally unstable. Sushma must have reached the end of her rope, if she committed suicide at all. Perhaps someone pushed her to death. It is truly sad that a young, beautiful, God-given life had to end this way.If only spouses are more understanding and more loving and more caring, marital discords would be far less and much harmony would dominate their relationships. Illicit or extra marital affairs, could also drive a person to a breakdown.. where the emotional and psychological side to a person undergoes major upheaval, which leads to cases like this, if true. Let's pray that youngsters, marital partners .. or anyone do not unduly take this extreme step under any circumstances.. as God gives us Life and only HE can end our lives. Let those who are weak, turn to God and receive sustenance from Him, who protects, cares and LOVES us dearly.. Amen

    The lady looks perfectly fine, even if there is some difference between her and her husband, or with somebody else, or may be somebody harrassing her committing suicide is not the answer, this is a pure madness. I think of the nurse Saldanha from Mangalore who committed suicide in UK. I am feeling sorry for such people. May her soul rest in peace.

    There is must be miss-understanding between the couple and it urged Sushma to take severe action, so dears this is not a right way of solution , at least think about future which will destroys your life for ever as well as the credit of your family. So it is my humbly request with all my sisters and brothers think 1000 times before committing suicide which is absolutely prohibited in all religion. (Muslim,Hindu and Christian, Jain, Buddhist etc.,) rest her soul in peace.

    Crime investigation and police departments are very strict and efficient in Kuwait.Such incidents will be verified by forensic medical experts.I think there is no room for any foul play.However it is natural and right of a parent to appeal because the accident took place in foriegn country.May her soul rest in peace.

    There are some loose ends for sure.
    Nobody chooses this method ,say in Kuwait, abruptly , without someone back home near and dear in the know about recent developments. However the 'dead do not speak' and sometimes most think that it is an unbeatable advantage....

    Committing suicide is not the right solution. One can only run away from the reality by doing so... required complete investigation by independent investigating body, on this sad incident. May her soul rest in peace.
