Mangalore: Fire to Modi banner at Mudipu - Police arrest four

Mangalore, Sep 25: The Konaje police on Tuesday September 24 arrested four persons for setting fire to a Narendra Modi banner near Muloor cross in Mudipu junction, here.

The arrested have been identified as Nawaz, Mohammed Azwin, Ziyad and Rahim, all residents of Mudipu.

On September 18, the accused had an argument with tempo driver Abdul Rahiman near Muloor cross and later attacked him and his tempo. They set fire to the banner showing BJP's PM candidate Modi. They also stopped a private bus and damaged its window panes, after which they fled the spot.

The accused later fled to Kerala and then moved to Bangalore. On receiving authentic information, police arrested them near Nandarapaddu when they were on the way back to Kerala.

Two days later on September 20, a similar incident was reported at Gurpur, wherein a banner showing Modi and Swami Vivekananda was set on fire. It is not known whether the same persons were involved in both the incidents.

    Whoever did wrong means its wrong. What is the need of burning poster?
    Whether its Modi's or Rahuls. Everybody has got their own right.

    Settin on fire Banner of N.Modi wont help to reject mass murderer Modi. He can only be defeated through Ballots. On election day, kindly go to a polling booth and show your frustration on ballot by casting your vote wisely. If you believe Modi becoming PM will pave way to mass murders of minorities in our country, just do not put vote to him. Thts it.

    Iftikhar , Frankly thats a bit too much . Fekkuu is hated by the minorities which is not a secret . So looks like this youngsters just for the sake of revenge & fun burnt Fekkuu's posters , they thought it will be a small issue . We shouldnt see much into it .

    A double standard by police.... CM Siddu tells Modi as "killer". Police do not arrest him. But this poor guys who not even know what is the fact just burnt the banners. But police arrest them.

    A double standard by public and CM....... If some money is given, they will burn even Siddus banner. And if siddu changes the party in coming years he will tell Rajiv Gandhi as killer of sikhs.

    Don't ever take law into own hand. We know that Modi is dividing the citizens of India for vote bank but we have to be patient and expose him with all authentic proof. He wants people like you to act so that his foot-soldiers can attack the innocent Muslims in our society. Fight this force legally because our constitution and judiciary is still very strong. If we don't react, in the end of the day we will get justice and the world will support us.

    Attacking political banners is wrong but attacking religious articles in display is a bigger wrong.

    Political leaders will come and go but the faith is an integral part of human beings. If the police could not catch those who desecrated the holier integral part of the society, this arrest is nothing the department should boast about. Well, an offense is always a punishable act, irrelevant of pertinence.

    As long as there are jobless youth roaming around, there will be no harmony - not in Managalore, nor entire Karnataka nor the whole of India.

    Government should be careful henceforth as Diggi just said few months back that " congress ruled states should watch out for rouge elements who will instigate communal tensions to garner votes".
