Bangalore, Sep 25: In an effort to curb increasing number of cyber crimes, the state government has passed an order to set up new cyber crime police stations in six cities.
The cyber crime police stations will be established under the crime investigation department (CID) in cities like Gulbarga, Mangalore, Davangere, Mysore, Belgaum and Hubli-Dharwad.
In the initial stage, officers and other officials will be deployed from CID department itself and later, officials will be appointed stage-by-stage.
The officials will be appointed within two years in these new stations and will be allowed to operate independently.
