Mangalore: SP Abhishek Goyal transferred, Shantanu Sinha to replace him

Mangalore, Sep 24: Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police (SP) Abhishek Goyal has been transferred and Shantanu Sinha will be replacing him.

Goyal, a 2005 batch IPS officer, will take up the post of Lokayukta SP in Bangalore.

Shantanu Sinha, a 2009 batch IPS officer, assumed charge as the deputy commissioner of police (law and order) of Mysore district this April as per the directive of election commission. After the Assembly election, Basavaraj Malagatti was reinstated as the DCP (law and order) of Mysore. 

An engineer hailing from New Delhi, he initially worked for a private firm and later took up IPS. He was posted in Shimoga on probation for six months and then as ASP of Channapatna subdivision in Ramanagaram district.

Altogether, two IAS officers and 10 IPS officers across the state have been transferred.

    Mangalore and DK are training grounds for the Govt......for transfers only ! No officer lasts more than 6 months if posted here.

    This is not good news to Mangalore / DK. I wonder many times as to why IPS & IAS Officers get transferred even before they have settled down in a place. Give them at least 2 to 03 years in a place to get things organised, so they know the area, learn situations and take appropriate actions for law and order in a city. Just as they get a hold of things, crimes etc in a city, they are asked to pack bags and go..!! If it is a Promotional Transfer, then, Good Luck to Mr. Goyal. DK / Mangalore will miss you sir.!!

    Dear Eula, the IAS and IPS officials are transferred even before they settle down and bring some law and order, because the vested interests do not want this to happen. They do not want these non-corrupt officials to work for the betterment of society and hence give them some promotion and transfer them to some place where their creativeness / alertness is curtailed or is ineffective. This is the sad situation of our country's legislature. Can you imagine these highly educated individuals are dictated about by our uneducated ministers who are nothing but thugs in disguise.

    Why does the Govt. do this ? It becomes very difficult for an officer esp. when the children are schooling. This disturbs the child.

    This is nothing but political game.Police officers should work in one place atleast for twoyears. Why toss them like football. Thats why crimes are increasing.
