Mangalore: Moral policing in Kulur - Call centre attacked

Mangalore, Sep 23: In a case of moral policing, a group of four persons allegedly barged into a call center located in Kulur on Friday September 20 and attacked employees working there.
As per the information obtained, on Friday late night, the group, saying that girls should not work on night shifts, barged into the Orbis business management call center and tried to enter the cabin where girls were working.
Meanwhile, Ashwin, an employee, who tried to stop them was assaulted. Call center senior customer service officer Bharath Kumar filed a complaint with Kavoor police that Rajesh, Harish, Deepak and Shiva attacked their office.
Acting on the complaint, police arrested the accused and released them on bail.
Meanwhile DYFI district president Muneer Katipalla condemned the incident and said that those who indulge in moral policing are not scared of the law anymore.
"Initially when Congress party came to power, people involved in moral policing were scared but not anymore. Action against moral policing is now restricted to media statements alone, he said.
A case has been registered in Kavoor police station.
