Udupi, Sep 21: “Our country will develop if we have alcohol free society. Hence, family members should quit drinking in order to lead a good family life,” said Udupi-Chikmangalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde.
He addressed the gathering during the valedictory ceremony of 623rd‘Madhyavarjana’ work which was held from the past eight days at Hejamadi Billava Sangha, organized by Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project.
Akhila Karnataka Janajagruti Vedike president Devdas Hebbar urged the participating members of the workshop to give good education to their children so that they can come up in life.
Kaup former MLA Lalaji R Mendon said, “Three prime ministers of our country were impressed by the Rahul Gandhi Shri Kshetra Dharmasthal Rural Development Project and now the project is transforming families through this workshop, he lauded.
Tulu Sahitya academy president Umanath Kotian, Jain Milan Udupi-Padubidri president Ratnakar Raj, Dugge Gowda, director of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, Uday Nayak, Akhila Bharatha Billava Mahamandala president Jaya C Suvarna, Udupi district JDS president Deviprasad Shetty spoke on the occasion.
The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Dayanand Hejamadi, honorary president of managing committee of the workshop.
Udupi zilla panchayat member Geetanjali Suvarna, central committee president Praveen Kumar Gurme, Kaup JCI Rakesh Kunjur, inspector G M Raikar from excise and lottery ban bureau, Hejamadi gram panchayat president Vaman Kotian, Janajagruti Vedike taluk president Naveen Amin, Malathi Dinesh, Pradeep, Domba Poojary among others were present.
The workshop was organized by Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala rural development project with blessings of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade along with co-operation from Karnataka Rajya Madhyapana Sayama Mandali Bangalore, Akhila Karnataka Janajagruti Vedike Beltangady, Hejamadi Madhyavarjana Vyavasthapaka Samiti, Karavali Yuka Yuvathi Vrunda, Buntara Samaja, gram panchayat, Billava Sangh and Yuvavahini.
