Udupi, Sep 17: The Udupi unit of Namo Brigade, an association of like-minded people in support of BJP PM nominee Narendra Modi, was launched with a bike rally here on Tuesday September 17.
The rally which was flagged off at Jodukatte culminated at DC's office at Rajatadri where a protest against the UPA government over price hike and other issues was held.
More than 500 two-wheelers and a thousand people were part of the rally.
The protestors demanded dissolution of the central government and submitted a memorandum in this regard, addressed to the President of India, through the deputy commissioner.
Addressing the gathering, Chakravarthi Sulibele said that it is a popular belief that the number 13 signifies bad luck, but it is not so for India. "But it is applicable only to the West and not to India, as Narendra Modi was chosen BJP's PM nominee on September 13. Hence the number 13 cannot be unlucky and it is just a superstition."
He added, "The astrological stars indicate that Congress will be defeated and BJP will win. Congress also calls Modi a murderer of humans, but during 1984, the Sikhs were massacred by the Congress and not BJP.
"In the previous Gujarat elections, the Congress ran the 'Chak De Gujarat' campaign, but at the end of it, the result was 'check dam Gujarat' with so many development works taking place. Congress speaks of 'Bharat Nirman' but has been no 'Nirman' (formation) but only demolition. For all this to change and to resolve the problems created by the UPA, it is necessary that we have Modi as our PM," he said.
Lashing out at Pakistan, he said, "Pakistan has only two armaments - AK-47 and A K Antony (union defence minister)."
He further added, "Now we have a Prime Minister who is like a robot. Usually robots work on remote control, but robot's remote control is operated by a lady."
Later, the members of the Namo Brigade celebrated Narendra Modi's birthday at Spandana centre, Santhekatte.
