Bantwal: Darshan participates in Simha Masa event at Vagenadu temple

Bantwal, Sep 17: “Every individual should lead his life with discipline. The organizers of this programme have given their best by hosting cultural events, and by felicitating various achievers,” said Odiyoor Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Shree Gurudevadatta Samsthanam.
He addressed the valedictory ceremony of the month-long Simha Masa programme held at Vagenadu Shree Subraya Temple in Karopady village here.
The highlight of the programme was the presence of Sandalwood star Darshan.
In his address, Darshan said that art needs devotion. "Art can only be mastered by true dedication and hard work. There are varieties of arts, but a person must put in continuous efforts to achieve something. In this Temple, all forms of art are equally honoured," he added.
"My film ‘Sangolli Rayanna’ has given me utmost satisfaction. We have worked hard for nearly three years for the success of this movie. I took this movie as a challenge. Many people had asked if this role would be challenging, as I have always acted in commercial movies," he said.
Lamenting that Kannada films do not enjoy as much popularity as other moviiles, he said, “Kannada actors are cursed. People here do not respect and accept Kannada actors, the way they accept Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam actors. Kannadigas must have some respect towards Kannada actors as well.”
Achievers in various fields were honoured on the occasion. B Ramanath Rai, Puttige Raghuram Holla, Leelavathi Baipadittaya, Gerukatte Ganagayya Shetty, Vidhya Kolyuru, Dr Padmanab Kamath, Janardhan Shetty, Saidhama Banditadka,Udayashankar Neerpaje, Yogeesh Sharma Ballapadavu, Kattattaru Ganapthy Bhat, Subraya Bhat, Balakrishna Acharya, Kunhiyanna Purusha Mitthadka, Madhava Kolthamajalu, Shubhasharan Thaltaje were felicitated.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, Halady Srinivas Shetty, K Padmanabh Kottary, Raghuram Shetty, Dhananjay Shetty, Mithun Rai among others were present.
