Mangalore, Sep 14: "The BJP high command has nominated Narendra Modi as the prime ministerial candidate for the next elections. Modi has thus trampled on senior BJP leader L K Advani, and his next step will be to hang BJP and its future," said Congress leader and former union minister Janardhan Poojary.
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday September 14, a day after BJP nominated Modi as the PM candidate, Poojary said, "RSS has been taking keen interest in making Modi the next Prime Minister. RSS will be encountered by Modi soon, as he is well-known for and experienced in staging encounters. The true colour of the RSS is out after Modi's nomination."
He further added, "If Modi wins and becomes the Prime Minister, then it is the end of L K Advani and Sushma Swaraj. The whole of BJP party seems to have been divided after this major decision. Rajnath Singh had been advised by the BJP senior leader Murali Manohar Joshi to consult the chief ministers of all the BJP-ruled states before deciding on the nominee, but he took the decision in a hurried manner.
"Advani has also lambasted Rajnath Singh for nominating Modi, as the BJP had been built by Advani and Vajpayee. Vajpayee had told Modi to step down from the CM post when people were killed and affected in the 2002 communal riots. Fake encounters were increasing in the state, and the Supreme Court had even urged for a CBI enquiry and many officers including the DIG were also arrested and put behind bars on charges of fake encounters, along with on Amit Shah, who is a close aide of Modi," he said.
"On the other hand, with the nomination of Modi, Yeddyurappa is also trying to get back into BJP. It would be no wonder if both the corrupt leaders come together. We are expecting peace and communual harmony in the country. We want a leader who can keep us united and not divide our country," he said.
"I challenge Modi to come to Karnataka. The people of this state will never accept him as the next PM," he said.
Moving on from political issues, Poojary said that the Mangalore Dasara will begin from October 10, and the inauguration will be done by Dr D Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala, at 5:30 pm at Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Temple.
Leaders Vijay Kumar Shetty, Mohammed Masood, Ivan D’Souza, Kallige Tharanth Shetty, Harikrishna Bantwal, Shashidhar Hegde, Arun Coelho, T K Sudhir, Mohan Mendon and others were present.
