New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS): Delhi saw a brief spell of rain Thursday afternoon which was of no help in bringing down the temperature and humidity. The met department has forecast light showers Friday.
While the maximum temperature was recorded two notches above average at 35.5 degrees Celsius, the humidity wavered between a high of 89 percent and a low of 52 percent.
"The skies will be partly cloudy tomorrow (Friday) and some parts of the city may get very light rain," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 35 and 26 degrees Celsius.
The city received sporadic rains Thursday afternoon. A total of 0.2 mm of rainfall was recorded in the capital from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
The day's minimum temperature settled at 26.4 degrees Celsius, a notch above average for this time of the season.
Since the monsoon's arrival, Delhi has got 786.7 mm of rain.
