Mangalore: Blessed John Paul II block inaugurated at Rosario College

Mangalore, Sep 12: Prof T C Shivashankar Murthy, vice-chancellor of Mangalore University on Wednesday September 11 inaugurated the new Blessed John Paul II block of Rosario College of Management Studies.

MLA J R Lobo and others were present on the occasion. Dr Alyosius Paul, bishop of Mangalore diocese blessed the gathering.

The bishop in his address conveyed his best wishes to Rosario college and wished that the students would make the best use of the facilities provided to them.

Blessed John Paul II block at Rosario Educational Institution has been built with an investment of about Rs 1.5 crore. It includes spacious class rooms, a conference hall, an extensive library, NSS room games room, exam room and an office room.

The infrastructure is built to cater to the needs of the increasing number students and to create a conductive atmosphere for study and to conduct extra-curricular activities, so as to enable the students to develop their personality and produce future citizens of moral integrity.    

Rosario College of management studies which is the up-gradation of Rosario PU-College is promising new institutuion established by the Rosario Cathedral Church under the management of Catholic Board of Education with Fr J B Crasta as its correspondent and Fr Alwin Serrao as its principal. The college is affiliated to Mangalore University and offeres three years’ graduation courses in bachelor of business management and bachelor of commerce.

Rosario College of Management Studies is a very young institution, and is an off-shoot of Rosario school which has a history of 154 years. In fact it is one of the oldest Catholic schools in Mangalore city. Presently more than 2000 students study in the various Rosario Educational Institutions from kindergarten to under graduation. It has carved a niche for itself in sports and games. The students who have gone out of the portals of this school and college have risen to great height of glory in national and international level, stated a media release.

    We are great believers who are convinced of the fact that if at all Mangalore is moving forward so brilliantly in every sector of human endeavor and producing such a positive impact in our daily life of progress, it is for none other reason than our focus on EDUCATION.

    One of the best and the biggest contribution that Christians have made all over India is towards our progress over progress on EDUCATION. Not only our Nuns and Priests, but also our vast conglomerate of intellectual men and women from the Christian faith have made a monumental difference in our society all over India. This is an undeniable fact that we need to place on record and feel proud that we are the bedrock of our vibrant society in India.

    Although we are away from Mangalore for more than five decades, our close attachment and dedication to Mangalore has enabled us to watch the progress and prosperity of Mangalore from a distance and we have connected our hearts and our minds towards our home town with a deep sense of joy admiration.

    To create an additional block at Rosario College under the name of Blessed Pope John Paul II is another creation of a feather on the bonnet of our EDUCATION in Mangalore under the wise affiliation of Mangalore University is another milestone of history in Mangalore that we need to be proud of.

    So much of EDUCATIONAL progress is witnessed in our home town, and the credit is certainly attributable to our beloved Bishop Aloysius whose dynamic and untiring leadership is displaying the most significant results that bring not only a pride for our Diocese but also a sign of progress and prosperity for our home town.

    We still remember we met Bishop Aloysius when we were flying from Bangalore to Mangalore, several years ago, when he was carrying the "green signal" document to open the Medical College at Fr.Mullers. Since then a chain of great accomplishments have been witnessed with a joyful heart filled with pleasure and pride. "Dhewarah Ashirwaadh".
