DU undergraduate course material now online

New Delhi, Sep 9 (IANS): A day after Delhi University started a blog to aid teachers in conducting the new foundation courses for the four-year undergraduate programme, it has uploaded study material online for students enrolled for the new course.

The material contributed by the teachers of the university under the "Virtual Learning Environment" is updated by the university's Institute of Lifelong Learning (IIL).

"The open educational resources (OER) are largely for the students of the four-year undergraduate programme to ensure lifelong learning of teachers, development of learning resources and innovative delivery methods," Ramesh K. Gautam, director, IIL told IANS.

ILL has initiated the process to prepare e-material in the form of e-lessons, e-labs, e-quizzes, e-lectures, interviews, podcast for the foundation, application and discipline-I (DC-I) courses in both Hindi and English.

"The course material is open to all and available in pdf files and interactive sessions, composed in the form of presentations. It can also be printed by the students," said Ravi Singh, who uploads the study material online.

DC-I are the compulsory subjects students are required to take to attain an honours degree, while the application courses are skill-based subjects which are mandatory.
