Mangalore, Sep 9: A day after grand Nativity Feast celebrations, the city is now all geared up to celebrate Ganeshotsava. Idols of Lord Ganesh, the elephant god, have been installed in various parts of the city.
Sheltered by pendals, decorated by flags and buntings, illuminated by lights, one can sense the festive mood reverberating around the city.
Ganesha idols of myriad colours and sizes are adorning places like Nehru Maidan, Bunts Hostel, Sanghanikethan, Hopcoms, KSTRC, Police Lane, Bejai, Kulshekar, Capitanio, Jeppinamogeru, and other places across the city.
Ganesha immersion processions will be held in different places on different days, until Sunday September 15, when the Nehru Maidan Ganesha idol is immersed.
Tight security has also been deployed in the city to avoid any untoward incidents.
